Erstausstrahlung: Wachtmeister Barbrady begeht einen schrecklichen Fehler: bei einer Pressekonferenz über den Hühner--(Piep:--fickers) gesteht er den anwesenden Journalisten ein, daß er nicht lesen kann. (eine kleine Dummheit eben) Die Konsequenzen sind erschütternd: Barbrady muß wieder in die Schule, in der er ihm mehr als gut gefällt. Die Stadt versinkt derweil in Chaos und Anarchie. Erst, als die Jungs ihm bei der Lösung des Falls helfen, wendet sich alles zu Guten: es stellt sich heraus, daß der schräge Fahrer des Bücherlandbusses - ein echter Hühner- und Menschenfreund - Barbrady nur dabei helfen wollte, lesen zu lernen, weil nur ein Lesekundiger alle schriftlichen Hinweise nutzen kann. Am Ende haben alle eine wichtige Lektion gelernt: Lesen ist fürn Arsch
